Obituary
Richard “Harv” Harvey George, 79, of Spaulding, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at his home. The son of Louis and Elizabeth (Marr) George, Harv was born on June 3, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Janice Clink on November 2, 1968 and together they shared 55 years.
Harv worked as truck driver for 28 years for Mulvena and finished his trucking career at Parker Motor Freight in 1998. In 2008, he started farming with Riverside and eventually Majestic Farms, retiring again in 2018. Harv proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball. Harv also enjoyed gardening, camping, and playing cards.
Harv is survived by his beloved wife, Janice George; loving children, Cynthia George and Janell Wheeler; dear grandchildren, LynAnn Wheeler (fiancé, Brandon Lowrie), Teresa Wheeler (partner, Camrun Laisure), Angee Wheeler (fiancé, Alex Hinkamp), and Tina (Christopher) Baluch; siblings, Sallie Bohlen, Katherine Walker, and Kendle Henderson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Bill Evans will officiate. Interment will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
