Laurel Margaret Howe-Buchholz, age 96, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. She was born on July 21, 1927, to David and Lillian (Wehner) Raymond in Saginaw, Michigan.
Laurel married the late George W. Norton, Sr., in 1947. She then married the late Clarence W. Howe on June 9, 1951. She married the late Paul Buchholz on May 29, 2004. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #497 for over 68 years. She was also a member of Moose Lodge 82 and the Washington Club. She was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church on the corner of Second and Federal, and eventually Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She enjoyed dancing and bingo.
She is survived by her son George (Sharon) Howe, Sr.; stepson, Ronald Howe; stepdaughters, Diane Liebham and Coprice Savage; two sisters, Phyllis Felske and Gertrude Burch; 7 grandchildren, Janet (John) Overley, Ronnie (Michelle) Howe, Rob (Liz) Howe, Kenny (Holly) Howe, Lori (Alan) Evans, George (Jennifer) Howe Jr, David (Heather) Howe; 10 great grandchildren, including Ethan and Trevor Howe; 14 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friend, Randy Meldrum.
Laurel was preceded in death by her first husband, George Norton; her second husband, Clarence Howe; her third husband, Paul Buchholz; her parents; her brothers, LeRoy and William Raymond; and brothers-in-law, Jim Felske and Cecil Burch; and stepson, Ken Howe.
Visitation will take place Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan, 48602. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw, Michigan.
Memorials in honor of Laurel may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
