Obituary
Donald “Don” Joseph Murray, age 75, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was born on December 25, 1947, to Raymond and Jane Murray, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Don worked for the City of Saginaw for his entire career, including time with the water treatment center. He was a community mediator for the Dispute Resolution Center in Saginaw, for which he received an Outstanding Achievement Award. He was also part of the Foster Care Review Board program for the State of Michigan, which was a true passion of his. Don enjoyed his retirement in Harrison for 15 years. He loved fishing, making fly fishing tackle, camping, riding his side by side, and was an avid reader. Don relished time in the outdoors and loved watching wildlife.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Murray; daughter, Kristen (Chad) O'Maelmona; grandson, Miles Anderson; siblings, James (Cheryl) Murray, Mary Ellen Murray, and Maureen Schlott; several nieces, nephews and cousins; dear family friends, Rosemary Vandacar, Alma Kilantang, and her daughter, Viena Quilantang. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Murray; siblings, Patricia Murray-Steding and Kevin Murray.
Memorial Visitation will take place Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan, 48602.

Don was a dear friend of ours (Jack and Penny’s). Don had a super sense of humor. I remember us on a ride listening to Bill Engval and he got laughing so hard his stomach hurt and he turned off the tape (yes tape). He loved my omelets and loved going in the woods and trails with our side by sides. He will be sadly missed but forever in our hearts and memories.
