Obituary
Dolores E. McInerney, age 89, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare. The daughter of Edward and Violet (Miller) Meier, Dolores was born September 11, 1934, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Dolores earned her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. She married Thomas McInerney on July 6, 1957, in Saginaw and together they shared 66 years of marriage. Shortly after Dolores and Thomas were married, they moved to New York where they lived for 8 years and Dolores enjoyed a career in teaching before starting a family. The couple then moved back to Saginaw where they raised their children. Dolores was actively involved in sports for most of her life, especially enjoying bowling, volleyball, softball, and golf. She coached her children in sports and could often be found volunteering in their classrooms. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and was rather adept with an iPhone and texting to keep in touch with family. Of all the things she loved in life, Dolores most treasured time spent with her beloved family.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Thomas McInerney; their children, Lynn (Brian) Ferguson, Debra (Jeff) Stevenson, Teri (Chris) Jarema, and James McInerney; grandchildren, Kari (Gabe) Aldrich, Sara (John) LeBlanc, Scot (Katelin) Ferguson, Abby (Adam) Walsh, Connor Stevenson, Claire Jarema (Christopher Gardner), Isobel Jarema (Javier Fulgencio III), Christian Wing, Ella McInerney, and Anna Schaupp; great grandchildren, Mason and Maylee Aldrich, Jack, Owen, and Liam LeBlanc, Quinn Ferguson, Zayden Jarema, and Trinity Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
