Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Raymond Herman, age 79, of Largo, Florida, passed away, Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born on September 21, 1944, to Vernard and Irene Herman in Saginaw, Michigan.
Thomas took over his father's business, Saginaw Auto Electric until he retired in approximately 2001. He had a love of flying and started with model remote control planes until he took the plunge and obtained his pilot's license. He flew for many years, taking his friends and family on exciting adventures. He dove into the technology age and learned everything there was to learn about computers. He always had the gift of curiosity and no fear of learning new things. After spending winters in Florida for several years, he made the move permanent in 2013 to Largo, FL where he could spend more time with his family. He always had a sense of humor and loved teasing anyone and everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Thomas is survived by his loving children, Tammy (Brian) McInerney and Thomas (Kerry) Herman; beloved grandchildren, Sarah (Vince) Palazzolo, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Williams, and Rachel McInerney (partner, Jonathan Carlstrom); cherished great grandchildren, Megan (John) Latimer, Avelina Palazzolo, Samantha Palazzolo, Seth Williams, Wyatt Williams, Natalie Hegg, Evelyn Carlstrom, Ana Carlstrom, and Benji Carlstrom; and dear great-great granddaughter, Isabella Latimer; longtime friend and former spouse, Jessica Bierlein; sister, Lynn (Richard) Cobb. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Herman; and his parents.
Memorials in honor of Thomas may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The American Heart Association.
Memorial Visitation will take place Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m., at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI, 48602. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

I don't know if you remember me of not but I'm Judy from next door to Vern and Irene in Buena Vista.
I'm so very sorry to hear of your father's and brother's passing recently. A couple of my favorite memories of him is when Tom had that red Leman's convertible and would take us out on a ride with the top down and when Tom and Vern would fly those remote-control planes together across the street.
As for my family I lost my mom in 1991, my dad in 2007, my brother Russell in 2017, and lastly my brother Steve in 2022. I'm the only one left now out of our family. I still have the house but I'm getting ready to sell it soon.
Anyways, I hope that the both of you and your families are doing well. Wishing you strength and comfort through this difficult time. God Bless.
