Obituary
Richard “Dick” Francis Woods, age 85, of Saginaw passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Dick was born on December 13, 1939, to Harry Miller and Mary Bernadine Woods in Saginaw, Michigan.
Dick enlisted in the Marine Corps and faithfully served his country. He was a member of the local IBEW for 65 years, working as an Electrician, all while he owned the Ace of Clubs bar for several years. Dick enjoyed his time outside sailing, golfing and gardening. He was known in the family as being a golf ball collector. More than anything, Dick was a proud veteran and was always willing to help when needed.
Dick is survived by his dedicated wife, Tammy Woods; children, Mary Danielle (Dan) Petersen, Renee (Paul) Casey, and Nicole (Robert) Hanson; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexander, Kyle Richard, Morgan, Alison, and Hayes; brother, Michael (Peggy) Woods; sisters-in-law, Barb Woods and Lavada Woods; and brother-in-law, Rick Napora; special niece and nephew, Kellye (Morris) Zambon and Thomas (Lucy) Woods; good friend, William (Dawn) Auger, and many others.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Woods; siblings, Rae Ann (William) Honey, Thomas Woods, and William Woods; brother-in-law, Keith Napora; and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 12:00p.m. until 7p.m., at Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan, with a Celebration of Life held at 4:00 p.m. Mark Oswald will officiate.
Burial of cremated remains with military honors will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442.
Dick's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Father John Johnson, and the Nurses, Nurses Aides of hall 200, and Physical Therapy team at Hoyt Nursing for their wonderful attention and care.
