Jose Manuel Gonzalez, age 70, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 3, 2024. He was born on April 15, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Juan Garcia Gonzalez and Petra Sanchez Gonzalez. Jose grew up in Zilwaukee, Michigan, served briefly in the Army, and spent many years in Texas before returning to Michigan in 2019.
Jose's passion and pride revolved around his family and his career as a Certified Public Accountant. In his pastime, he enjoyed spending time with family/friends, weightlifting, and listening to Tejano music.
Jose is survived by his four children: Priscilla Gonzalez of Lansing, Michigan, Stephanie Gonzalez of Commerce Township, Michigan, Michael Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas, and Petra Gonzalez of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Andriana Gonzalez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alexander Gonzalez of Commerce Township, Michigan, and Delilah Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Nyla Pruitt and Gionni Pruitt of Las Vegas, Nevada; siblings, Betty Ortega, Janie Lopez , Eva Gonzalez Dontje, Esther Rivera, Johnny Gonzalez, and Terrie Gonzalez Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Garcia Gonzalez, and Petra Sanchez Gonzalez; siblings, Salvador Gonzalez, Davy Gonzalez, and Guadalupe Gonzalez; oldest son, Jose Gonzalez Jr.; and the mother of his five children, Cynthia Teresa Lozano (Castillo).
Honoring Jose's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.

My great uncle, my uncle Joey. The sweetest kindest soul I've ever met. He always thought of others and tried his best to make people happy. Tio Joey called me Meeka and it was a blessing that I was able to be somewhat close to him. Close enough to know that he had such a beautiful loving spirit. He was unique and very intelligent. We will all miss him everyday. I'll always remember his big sweet kind eyes, his loving tight hugs and how he called me Meeka♡ there was nobody like him.
