Obituary
Jean Helen Ugartechea, age 75, of Saginaw, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. The daughter of Joseph and Antoinette Horonzy, Jean was born November 26, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Jean worked at Bell Telephone for many years and then at Meijer. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith, having been a parishioner at SS. Peter & Paul and St. Andrew Catholic Churches. Jean loved a good rummage sale. She also enjoyed being with friends, especially Sister Elaine Raymond, who was such a kind and wonderful friend to Jean over the years. Most of all, Jean treasured her family. She loved her granddaughter and deeply cared for her children and family.
Jean is survived by her children, Joseph Ugartechea and Theresa Ugartechea (special friend, Jimmy Jordan); granddaughter, Kathleen Ugartechea; siblings, Jimmy (Barb) Horonzy, Joanne Novak, Mary Rocha, Timothy (Judy) Horonzy; beloved niece and caregiver, Karri McKenna; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her siblings, Jerry (Ramona) Horonzy, Joseph (Gretchen) Horonzy, Jr., Peter Horonzy, and Judith (Howard) Hannon.
Honoring Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

I really miss you! You surprised me so much over the years on how strong you were. When I thought you would be weak you were strong! All the battles you had and never once complaining of anything! You always shocked me! The years of getting Vernor’s, cheese balls and word searches and books are embedded in my daily thoughts. Cheese balls are on sale now! You got me there. People saw glowing lights around you. Unfortunately I did not. I believe it was my mom Judy your big sister coming for you. I know your in good hands and I will truly miss you! I used to take care of Jean for 3 years and often times i still think of her. I go visit the facility and i always wish she was there. I miss the hugs, hairstyles, nail painting, sitting and watching a tv show or her just asking me to tuck her in at night. My jeanie weenie! I miss you a lot
