Obituary
Christine “Chris” Louise Schaub, age 74, of Saginaw, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024,
at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of
Claud and Eleanor (Bowman) Ludwig, Chris was born February 26, 1950, in Port Huron,
Michigan. She married Paul Schaub on December 18, 1971, and together they shared 52 years
of marriage.
Chris worked as a Registered Nurse for 34 years. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal
Church where she served in different capacities. Chris was passionate about music and loved
singing, she was an active member of the Saginaw Choral Society. Chris loved her family dearly
and most treasured time with them spent up north at the family cabin.
Chris is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Schaub; loving children, Sandy (Paul) Rye and
Amy (Eric) Mushall; grandchildren, Gavin and Thomas Rye, and Teagan and Soren Mushall;
siblings, Drew (Chris) Ludwig, Susan Ludwig (Stephen Kempski), and Craig Ludwig; and
brother-in-law, David (Beth) Schaub. She was preceded in death by her adoptive mother Doris
(Frank) Ludwig; brother, Alan Ludwig; sister-in-law, Minna Davidson; and her parents, Claud
and Eleanor Ludwig.
Memorial Visitation will take place Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
Fischer Family Funeral Home, 504 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602. Memorial
Visitation will take place Friday, August 2, 2024, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N.
Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00
a.m. Rev. Ann Grady will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Chris may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 123
N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.
