Obituary
Rosalie “Connie” Ortega, age 88, of Saginaw, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024. The daughter of Fred and Marina (Gamez) Ortega, Connie was born November 28, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Connie worked as a stenographer and office secretary for most of her life, but most recently worked for Equitable Life Insurance until her retirement. She was a faithful, longtime member of First Assembly of God on Mackinaw, now Grace Valley Church. Connie loved the Detroit Tigers and spending time outside caring for her home, yard, and landscaping. She will be remembered as an exceptional host, who especially treasured the holidays with family and friends.
Connie is survived by several special nieces and nephews, Dennis (Jean) Ortega, Gloria (Dr. Dana) Everson, the late Daniel Ortega, Arthur (Rosaida) Acevedo, Jonathan (Dilly) Acevedo, Timothy Acevedo (Betty Garza), Jennifer (Andrew) Hernandez, Rick Ortega, Ron (Carolyn) Ortega and Rachelle (Eddie) Soto; and cousins, especially David (Vivian) Gamez, who cared for Connie in many ways over the years. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Daniel (Grace) Ortega, Art (Patricia) Ortega, Ophelia (Exiquio) Acevedo, Richard (Judy) Ortega.
Honoring Connie's wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw.
