To our very special community of friends and neighbors:
Fischer Family Funeral Services has been dedicated to serving our community and we stand ready to help you now. During this period of uncertainty, we will continue to assist families during this critical time.
Our thoughts are with those who have been affected in many ways by the COVID-19 pandemic and we extend our deep appreciation to our health care community for all they are doing to protect us.
We are well prepared to serve you during this crisis and we continue to educate ourselves with the latest guidance and updates. After reviewing the most recent recommendations from the WHO, CDC, the Michigan Department of Public Health, Saginaw County Health Department, and the Michigan and National Funeral Directors Associations, we have established the following temporary service restrictions:
While we will work with every family to assure that their needs are met as they process loss and that their loved one is honored, we must be mindful in limiting our gatherings to the smallest groups possible. As of January 16, 2021, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued an Emergency Order limiting funerals to 25 people. Under the Emergency Order, this means that funeral, memorial, and celebration services held at our facility are limited to no more than 25 people until March 29, 2021. We will offer free live streaming and recording and will post videos of services as requested.
To the caring friends and extended family members, your support is now more important than ever. We know that this is a time of uncertainty for everyone and we want you to know that your health is foremost in our minds so that you can still support families that have lost a loved one during this unprecedented time. We continue to offer a free online guest book, memorial videos, photo sharing opportunities, and our sympathy store at www.fischerfuneral.com for every family we serve. You are also welcome to call our office at (989) 755-8277 to have your name added to a family’s guest book.
For Those Visiting Our Funeral Home
While the COVID-19 virus requires all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities, rest assured that our funeral home is clean and safe for your health as well as our own. As supplies allow, we will have hand sanitizer available at the funeral home. Before attending a ceremony, if you feel ill in any way - please stay at home. A face mask or other facial covering is required to be worn while inside our funeral home for your safety and the safety of those around you. We are also practicing safe distancing with regard to seating arrangements during events held at our funeral home.
Making Funeral Arrangements
If you have recently lost a loved one, or will soon, we are here for you. If you are unable to make arrangements in person at our funeral home due to travel restrictions, health concerns or any other reason, our caring staff will help you accomplish everything necessary through email, telephone call, FaceTime, and other technology, if needed. Every situation can and will be accommodated.
Losing a family member or a friend is never easy. We are aware that these unsettling times can amplify feelings of grief and anxiety. Please know that we are here for anything you may need to honor life, support loved ones and begin the healing process. We will update our protocols and follow guidelines as necessary in accordance with directives from the CDC, Michigan Funeral Directors Association, and our State and Local Health Departments. The safety and wellbeing of you, your family, and our community is of the utmost importance. Should you have any questions or concerns, we can be reached 24 hours a day at (989) 755-8277.
